The Trust has recently awarded two more individual grants.
An award of £1,125 has been made to Elynor Backstedt, a 15-year-old cyclist from Pontyclun. Elynor is the current British Under-16 cycling pursuit champion, winning the title and setting a new British record at the Junior Track Championships in August. She now has the privilege of being able to wear the striped jersey as British champion. The grant will help Elynor with equipment and travel costs.
Brandon Gilmour, a 20-year-old left handed batsman and right arm medium pace bowler from Berkshire, who has just finished his first full year on the staff at Gloucestershire, has been awarded a grant of £575 to help him with the cost of attending a special three-week training camp in India in the new year.
We wish both Elynor and Brandon all the very best in the next stage of their respective careers.
These two awards mean that over 50 young sportspeople have now benefited from the award of individual grants.
